DFO wishes to advise 3Ps inshore crab harvesters in Crab Fishing Area 10A that Area Selection applications are available for Inner or Outer areas and can be requested through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS). Applications need only to be completed if you are looking to change areas. If you wish to remain in the area that you were licensed for in 2022, no application is required.

Please upload completed application to the National Online Licensing System (NOLS).

NOTE: APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS DAY MARCH 9, 2023.

Submission of the application does not indicate approval. The final decision will be communicated through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS) via appropriate documentation.

The intent of this meeting is to provide inshore harvesters and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to discuss matters of concern with respect to the various inshore fisheries.

DFO wishes to remind Crab Harvesters that Area Selection Applications are available for the following inshore Crab Fishing Areas 5A, 6A, and 6B. Applications must be received by close of business day on February 24, 2023.

Harvesters can obtain an application by contacting the area licencing center or detachment office by phone or e-mail. Applications can also be requested from the National Online Licencing System (NOLS).

Please note: Area Selection Applications only need to be completed if you are looking to move areas.

If you do not fill out the form you will remain in the area you were licensed for in 2022.

Harvesters can obtain an application by contacting the area licencing center by phone or e-mail. Applications can also be requested from the National Online Licencing System (NOLS).

Applications must be returned to the Area Office by close of business on March 17, 2023.

DFO advises that the directed cod fishery in NAFO Sub-division 3Ps units f, g, and h will open to vessel class C176 at 0600 hours on Friday, February 17, 2023.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2022-253 has been revoked and Variation Order 2023-010 comes into effect on February 17, 2023.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada advises that the Herring fishery in St. Mary's Bay, Herring Fishing Area 09 and Placentia Bay, Herring Fishing Area 10 for mobile gear vessels in the greater than 55 feet (16.76 m) allocation, will open at 0600 hours on February 16, 2023 and close on February 16, 2023 at 2000hrs.
