DFO advises anglers that the following river will re-open to normal angling hours as of 10:00 a.m. on August 10, 2022.

Zone 13

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Orders 2022-160, 2022-161, 2022-162, 2022-163, and 2022-164 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2022-165, 2022-166, 2022-167, 2022-168 and 2022-169 come into effect at 1800 hours on August 9, 2022.

Salmon Rivers Closing in Zones 12 and 13

Notice description

DFO advises anglers that due to extremely high water temperatures and/or low water levels, the following rivers in Zones 12, and 13 will be restricted to morning angling only effective one hour after sunset on Monday, August 8, 2022.

During this period, angling is permitted from one hour before sunrise to 10:00 am each day, and will be closed to angling from 10:01 am to one hour before sunrise on the following day.

The rivers will reopen as conditions improve. Please refer the 2022 Angler's Guide for further information on the environmental protocol.

Opening of the Squid Fishery in 3KLPs

DFO advises that the commercial Squid fishery for Traps, in NAFO Division 3K (Squid Fishing Areas 3 and 4); 3L (Squid Fishing Areas 5, 6, and 7) and sub-Divisions 3Ps (Squid Fishing Areas 10 and 11) will open 0600 hours on Friday, August 12, 2022. Licence fees and licence conditions are available through the national online licencing system.
