DFO wishes to advise harvesters that all herring fisheries for all fleets in 4R3P will close at midnight on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2024-002 has been revoked and Variation Order 2024-014 comes into effect on March 28, 2024.

DFO advises that 3Ps fixed gear herring fisheries in Herring Fishing area 10 will close at 2000 hours, March 18, 2024, for barr seine.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2024-005 has been revoked and Variation Order 2024-010 comes into effect at 1700 hours on March 18, 2024.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2024-004 has been revoked and Variation Order 2024-005 comes into effect at 1700 hours on January 29, 2024.

DFO advises that the Fixed Gear (Bar/Tuck Seine) Herring fishery will close on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 1800 hours in Notre Dame Bay (Herring Fishing Area 4).

DFO advises that the fixed gear Herring fishery (Barr/Tuck Seine) will open by permit only on January 13, 2024 at 0600 hours in Notre Dame Bay (Herring Fishing Area 4).

License conditions can be obtained through DFO’s National On-line Licensing System for those harvesters who have been contacted.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2023-310 has been revoked and Variation Order 2024-003 comes into effect on January 13, 2024.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada advises that the Herring fishery in St. Mary's Bay, Herring Fishing Area 09 and Placentia Bay, Herring Fishing Area 10, for mobile gear vessels in Group A will close at 1800 hours on January 11, 2024.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2024-001 has been revoked and Variation Order 2024-002 comes into effect at 1600 hours on January 11, 2024.

Amended license conditions will be required.
