2022 SNOW CRAB SEASON OPENING FOR 3K

Fisheries and Oceans Canada advises that the Snow Crab fishery in 3K will open the following dates:

Crab Management Area 4 will open at 6:00 a.m. on Monday April 11, 2022 for the purpose of travelling to the fishing ground. Fish harvesters are reminded that they are not authorized to set Crab traps until 72 hours after the Snow Crab fishery season has opened. Therefore, any setting of Crab traps or possession of Crab before 6:00AM on Thursday, April 14 is prohibited.

Crab Management Area 3D will open at 12:00 am (midnight) on Thursday, April 14, 2022 for the purpose of travelling to the fishing ground. Fish harvesters are reminded that they are not authorized to set Crab traps until 6 hours after the Snow Crab fishery season has opened. Therefore, any setting of Crab traps or possession of Crab before 6:00 am on Monday April 14, 2022 is prohibited.

Crab Management Area 3A will open at 12:00 am (midnight) on Monday, April 18, 2022 for the purpose of travelling to the fishing ground. Fish harvesters are reminded that they are not authorized to set Crab traps until 6 hours after the Snow Crab fishery season has opened. Therefore, any setting of Crab traps or possession of Crab before 6:00 am on Monday April 18, 2022 is prohibited.

Crab Management Areas 3B, 3C and 3BC will open at 12:00 am (midnight) on Sunday, April 24, 2022 for the purpose of travelling to the fishing ground. Fish harvesters are reminded that they are not authorized to set Crab traps until 6 hours after the Snow Crab fishery season has opened. Therefore, any setting of Crab traps or possession of Crab before 6:00 am on Sunday April 24, 2022 is prohibited.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2022-019 has been revoked and Variation Order 2022-024 comes into effect on April 9, 2022.
