DFO advises anglers that the following rivers will re-open to normal angling hours as of one hour before sunrise on August 29, 2025.

79. *Northwest Brook Trepassey
80. Peter’s River
81. *Salmonier River, including Back River below falls

*indicates river has closed sections (reference Anglers’ Guide 2025-26)

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Orders 2025-217, 2025-218, 2025-219, 2025-220 and 2025-221 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2025-222, 2025-223, 2025-224, 2025-225 and 2025-226 will come into effect at 1800 hours on August 28, 2025.
