Salmon River Closures in Salmon Fishing Areas 11, 12 and 13
DFO advises anglers of the following closures to all angling until further notice, effective one hour after sunset on August 14, 2025:
Salmon Fishing Area 11
111. Bay du Nord River
112. Simmons Brook & tributary streams, Cinq Island Bay, Fortune Bay
113. Southwest Brook & tributary streams, Cinq Island Bay, Fortune Bay
114. Old Bay Brook, Bay de l’Eau
115. Taylor’s Bay Brook, Bay de l’Eau
117. Long Reach Brook, East Bay
118. Allen’s Cove Brook, Facheau Bay
119. Bottom Brook, Facheau Bay
120. Hare Bay Rivers, Southwest Coast
DFO advises anglers that due to extremely high water temperatures and/or low water levels, the following rivers in Salmon Fishing Areas (SFA) 12 and 13 will be restricted to morning angling only, effective one hour after sunset on August 14, 2025.
During this period, angling is permitted from one hour before sunrise to 10:00 am each day and will be closed to angling from 10:01 am to one hour before sunrise on the following day.
The rivers will reopen as conditions improve. Please refer to the 2025 Angler's Guide for further information on the environmental protocol.

145. *Southwest and Bottom Brooks & tributary streams

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Orders 2025-192, 2025-193, 2025-194, 2025-195 and 2025-196 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2025-197, 2025-198, 2025-199, 2025-200 and 2025-201 will come into effect at 1800 hours on August 14, 2025.
