Salmon River Closures in Salmon Fishing Areas 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 14A
DFO advises anglers that due to extremely high water temperatures and/or low water levels, the following rivers in Salmon Fishing Areas (SFA) 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 14A will be restricted to morning angling only effective one hour after sunset on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
During this period, angling is permitted from one hour before sunrise to 10:00 am each day and will be closed to angling from 10:01 am to one hour before sunrise on the following day.
The rivers will reopen as conditions improve. Please refer to the 2024 Angler's Guide for further information on the environmental protocol.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Orders 2024-130, 2024-131, 2024-132, 2024-133, and 2024-134 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2024-146, 2024-147, 2024-148, 2024-149, and 2024-150 come into effect at 1800 hours on July 16, 2024.
