Welcome to the Habitat Management Program. Operating as a regulatory program of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), our mandate is:

• to protect and conserve fish habitat in support of Canada's coastal and inland fisheries resources; and,

• to conduct environmental assessments under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA) before Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) makes a regulatory decision under the habitat provisions of the Fisheries Act.

Our goal is to work with the public and partners and deliver services that are nationally consistent and undergo continuous improvement. The information contained in this website will help you access the policies, guidelines and techniques of DFO's Habitat Management Program.
