NOTICE TO FISH HARVESTERS
CAPELIN FIXED GEAR FISHERY OPENING IN PORTION OF AREA 14
DFO advises that the Capelin fixed gear fishery using traps and bar seine (including modified bar seine known as "tuck seine"), for vessels less than 65 feet, in portions of Western NL will open at 0600 hrs on Wednesday, July 12 2017.
The specific Capelin quota zone that will open is as follows:
Capelin Fishing Area 14 From the Quebec - Labrador Border north to Cape Charles and west of a line drawn between the following points 51º38' N, 55º26'W and 52º15'N, 55º26'W
All fish harvesters are reminded that dockside monitoring requirements are in place for this fishery. Licence conditions are available through DFO's National On-line Licencing System.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2017-111 has been revoked and Variation Order 2017-144 comes into effect on July 12, 2017.
